asked questions
How long will it take to declutter/organise my space?
Each home environment is different. Varying factors, such as the
size of the rooms or the nature of the project, the amount of
clutter and paperwork, distractions during the sessions, your
ability to make decisions and your willingness to develop new
habits, will all affect the length of the process.
How long are organising sessions?
Organising sessions vary from 4-6hrs, depending on your needs. We work at a pace that you are comfortable with. Remember that your home did not get cluttered overnight and it will not get organised again in just a few hours
How do you charge for your services?
A
basic rate is charged for the initial consultation. Organising
sessions are billed on an hourly basis, with a minimum of 4
hours booked. Travel costs will apply depending on where you
live. Please contact
Saskia Wild for rates. 48 hours’ notice is required for
cancellation. Non-emergency cancellations will be charged a
cancellation fee.
How do I pay?
Payment is by cash or EFT after the completion of a session or
sessions.
What are the benefits for me and my family?
You have the opportunity for your home to be a place in which
your family loves to spend time – a place of order and
simplicity - a sanctuary. When you get organised and maintain
the systems that we put in place, your children can follow your
lead. You have the opportunity to teach them this vital life
skill – having a well-run and peaceful home to enjoy. You and
your family can learn what it feels like to be content with
less, and how liberating it can be to release your clutter.
Added to that, being organised will save you money and loads of
time, increase productivity and will result in an increase of
your emotional capacity.
What do I need to do before the initial consultation?
Nothing. Please don’t put any of your things away. We will need
to see your environment as it is, in order for us to get a feel
for how you currently live.
What should I do to prepare for decluttering/organising
sessions?
We will make suggestions depending on the nature of the session.
If we are decluttering, you will be asked to have boxes and
black bin bags ready, as well as a marker pen, cleaning products
and a cloth. We will let you know if you need to provide any
other items.
Will you make me get rid of my possessions?
There are many reasons why we hoard, why we are disorganised and
why we procrastinate. Decluttering and organising is a process
and we will be sensitive to where you are at in the process. We
will however help you to come to terms with your habits around
your clutter, by identifying your own thinking and attitude
towards your stuff. You ultimately make the final decision about
whether to keep something or to let it go. It is important that
your home reflects who you are, and we will simply be there to
support you and give you the skills that will help you in your
decision making.
What about confidentiality?
We understand that using the services of a Professional
Organiser means inviting a stranger into your home. The process
of de-cluttering, organising, and exposing personal areas of
your home is a vulnerable experience and we operate with
courtesy and sensitivity to your feelings. Your personal space
and details are private and Simply Sorted guarantees absolute
confidentiality. Simply Sorted abides by the POAA Code of
Ethics.
